Reading

What I loved the most about these readings was the sketchbook nature of them. How they reminded me of journals with doodles and diagrams, and sometimes nonsensical writing. The essence of the research was found among these marks. I loved that in one piece I found a piece of tissue with lipstick on it clipped to what was a scan of a piece of paper. The structure reminded me of how my mind works, the freedom reminded me of the transience nature of thoughts. I felt released from academic writing by engaging with the work.

It gave me hope for finding a relationship between my academic writing and my practice. As I am not a confident writer, especially in an organizational sense. It is what I find most difficult, and I see there is room for more creative approaches to resolve the relationship between writing and practice.
