To daft to notice? Forms revealed

I walked up and down the shore. Looking at the cliffs. Trying to soak them in. Trying to remember them, to see them properly. I photographed every step of the way.

When I got the photographs back and processed them I finally saw the shape of the cliff. Why had I not been able to see this? Was it all about scale? I couldn't understand it outside of my given scale. This is only revealed after the processing.

Now when I look at the photographs they are different. I see the objects.
